Community-Based Nutrition in Faryab and Jawzjan

Location
Faryab, Jawzjan
Duration
01 October 2024 – 31 December 2026

Project Overview

Community-based nutrition follow-up services across all 25 districts of Faryab and Jawzjan, extending the
reach of the northern nutrition programme from the health facility into every village.

About this project

Community-based nutrition programming brings preventive and early-detection nutrition services to the
household level. Through trained community health workers, mother-to-mother support groups and family
health action groups, the project promotes optimal infant and young child feeding, screens children for
malnutrition in their own villages, and links families to the nearest health facility before a child’s condition
becomes severe.
